last summer, david cross performed at cobb’s comedy club in sf and proved his brillance and his wit when he dealt more cleverly with former mayor willie brown’s bullshit than anyone i’ve seen. during the Q& A, willie yelled at a woman in the audience for questioning him. during the next question, david cut in, “what willie meant to say was, ‘fuck you bitch!’”. the rest of the panel of san francisco elite did not appreciate him for speaking the fucking truth about lame-ass politicians. afterward, he bought a raffle ticket to support my cousin’s high school. he was chatting it up with the singer from the donnas, so as we drove past them after leaving the club, my sister blared their music (the old stuff, back when they were local and kinda riotgrrrl and their music was pretty good).
